Wassup people? What’s up with Rookie TV? I get the question all the time and I can definitely understand it. I mean when we did this thing years ago, we felt we had a cool project that people could feel but we didn’t surmise it having the amount of support we got back from it. After we broadcasted for the first time it was like validation for us. We saw our work on screen and it was amazing, it was a high I never got before. We would go out on the street and to various places and people that we didn’t know would say hi. We got invited to tv shows and to host events and parties and I swear it was a hell of an experience. But that was years ago literally and we have been getting that question more than not of where the hell have we been and what are we up to? Well, we took it upon ourselves to let you guys know first hand about a little of our lives outside of the show. Here is a video about C-Dub and what he has been up to.
C-Dub is the guy that makes sure the website runs and is full of content that is pleasingly offensive
if you find yourself seeing clips of Beaters and you wonder what the entire thing looks like, go to the website. I dare you to click! I actually lost the tapes for a few years of that event. Big DAVE and I had ours edited for a while but I never could find the tapes of C-Dub because of the many moves I have made myself. By the grace of God, I found them and I was able to show you how this very talented guy lives and works. His family are a bunch of very loving people, but it was hilarious to hear the arguments that would ensue.
The part where his dad gets in trouble cracks me up. My segment was the second to be finished and it was nothing more than a tour of my job at the station I work at. Its crazy working on tv, but its even crazier working on it when you produce as well. Take a tour with me and see what you think.
For all of you that may think that is C Dub sitting there tied up in the one office…it aint, trust me…(Ahem) Hey do you guys like Pizza? I love pizza
If anything, that was proof of my love of the show Cheaters. Funny thing is that Big DAVE wrote Beaters, but we both used to watch it and call each other about the really funny episodes. Speaking of Big DAVE, his video was the first made subsequently the last we will show of the 3. He has been perfecting his standup for the past few months and doing a damn good job at if if you as me. It started as a dare from the guy Jimmy for us all to hit an amateur night and do some standup LOL. Little did he know I had been doing standup since 16 LOL. I aint say I was good, but Dave and him are. Check it out.
Don’t tell Big Dave and Jimmy but I loved the set they did that night. I was in it too, but I decided to cut it out not to over-shine they’re asses LOL! Truth is we are a team of 3 core members with many supporters and friends. We hope to one day get our chance, but in the meantime we keep making more. Remember the old Doritos slogan? “Crunch all you want, We’ll Make more? This explains us to the T. We are constantly making stuff but its hard to get it all made because of lack of budget. It may seem sad, but we love it because we stay creating for you guys and you guys only.
If you want to know what things are heating up on the stove we got tons in production. We are currently filming every weekend again like we did when we started. We are workin on a new web series we are going to hit the web with and there is even a Rookie TV Mixtape in the workings with some of Chicago’s hottest producers and rappers involved. We stay busy, and stay lovin’ yall. Imma leave you guys with a video we got sent to us by a few of our fans, shout out to Lou and the bunch.
We appreciate yall. !

In short, we been doing this stuff for a longtime, and to us its solely for the fun of it. Maybe one day it will catch on but until then, check back for updates all the time. And dont forget to play catch up on the blogs and videos you still havent seen. the proof is in the pudding. RookieTV.com better to get it from the source than any other place, right?

When was the last time you were in a store and saw a kid having a temper tantrum? What were your thoughts about the situation? Did you put yourself in that parents shoes and vow that your offspring would neva act a fool like that? Well it happens all the time, in fact every time I go food shopping (especially at the first of the month) I see this all the time.
There are many ways to handle this situation, but one must take into consideration the circumstance. In the video we just saw a kid in public totally doing the fool because his father won’t let him have something he really wants. Familiar situation right?
Kids having these tantrums are a fact of life and they happen more than not in certain households. When thinking of how to remedy something like a temper tantrum I can remember running a show at work called the Supernanny. Her methods though so different than what I was used to were often effective.
The infamous naughty corner is a concept that as a black man cracks me up because its not how I was brought up. My mother and dad although they didn’t have to often put the smack down when I was acting out for no apparent reason. The Bible states it “Spare the rod, spoil the child.” My mom said it, “I brought you in this world and I can take you out!” These are phrases that do a bit more than hint toward an ass beating. This is something I knew about but didn’t receive many. Hell, they didn’t have to because the roots were already planted deeply in the soil.

(DAD,ME, MOM)
I knew my parents weren’t going for certain shit because the respect was there, because I got my ass whipped. Now, it was never without fair warning and many times I got lit up because there was no other way, but again, I did not have to get many in my lifetime being a male and all. So then is it that it is a race issue?
We know these differences in strategies of discipline changes with race and culture, but is it more likely for a certain race to have more problems with their kids because of the way they reer their kids or is this just an insignificant observation that is biased even from the premise? Look at this clip of another tantrum, a young child is upset because his mother canceled a child’s account to a popular video game. It happened to me before, not surprisingly I didn’t act this way. My dad woulda let me tire myself out, then tore me up!
I swear I was thinking this was a race thing, because being outside I see differences. I don’t see black people using leashes on their kids, but I don’t see white parents whipping their kids in public. So I chalked this up to be just a cultural difference that is until I saw this video and totally had to re think my theory.
Sadly that entire altercation came from a pack of Ramen Noodles, now it is apparent to me that this was something much deeper than the 20 cent pack of noodles and that the fat kid’s brother was just the camel that broke the camel’s back, but did you see the blatant disrespect afterward calling everyone in the house “Bitches!?” I proved to myself that it is not a thing of race, and I have learned, but what I want parents to learn is that tantrums will happen and its normal. Doesn’t mean your a bad parent at all. But our reactions to these fits of anger is what separates the good parents from the ones that are negligent. People, sometimes a good ol ass whipping is all the doctor ordered. A little fear goes a long way, because when coming from you, its actually translated as respect. I got mine whipped, and my son will as well when he messes up after Ive told him several times what is the deal and the naughty corner doesn’t suffice. Whip that ass!
Whenever you have a subject that is as sensitive like disciplining a child you are gonna have tons of viewpoints. mine is only one and doesn’t necessarily mean I don’t understand or respect other viewpoint. I understand the time out, just as I understand a good old fashioned ass whipping, but what needs to be said is that there is a line that you don’t cross and abuse to a child is NOT an option. Here are a few pictures compliments of my friend Ms. Foxy from FB of parents who take the whippings way too far.

Thanks Ms Foxy, for letting your people and me know about the injustices against children happening everyday. I know I started with this being something lighthearted, but abuse is something that is inhumane and needs to be addressed. I may be an advocate for whipping a child, but by no means should that lead to abuse. Above all else parents, do your damn jobs. Parenting is never easy, even after they move out. Its a lifetime gig, if you cant take it, don’t sign up. Simple as that.
Yo, Chill, daddy loves you man.
Read it, enjoy it, spread it.
Damn I havent posted since June? DAMN! Well no internet will do that to you. I don’t have a lot of time so let me get out what I can. First off, HI!! I will be on my posting more (when I get the internet. Donations accepted!) and I’m not supposed to be doing this now but fuck it. (Right now there is a co-worker of mine looking over at my computer to see what I am typing. She think I can’t see her but I see you hefer!) Yo there is a lot going on and I lot to say, but I don’t have time (Gotta get back to the Matrix).
You guys have got to watch this Kanye West short film that was directed by Spike Jonze (Flashing Lights, The Funk, Where The Wild Things Are, etc.) This is brilliant and you can’t tell me you don’t know people like that!. I wish getting rid of inner demons was as easy as cutting them out. Life would be so much easier.
Check it out (Just copy and paste the portion below in the address bar and enjoy!)…

Romans 8:28

Yo guess what? Obama is on I films getting his acting Jones in order. Yeah, turns out it’s a 3 part series directed by Todd Berger that is set to drop really soon! Nah, I couldn’t even say that with a straight face. LOL actually its my actor friend James doing his thing in Cali playing our man Barack Obama. Hes played a ton of characters for Rookie TV like Tiger Woulds,
the customer from Meatshake, and some cat that gets his ass whipped on Beaters. He was like our go to guy, that is until he went to Cali (sniff) Much respect to him landing the role though. Check him out in this multi-part series where he plays our beloved leader doing what he does all the time, saving the world. Nobel Prize anyone LMAO!
In this first episode Special Agent Barack 00Bama is the only man with the know-how, finesse, and presidential jurisdiction to single handedly solve America’s problems. The White House’s new High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group techniques are aggressively… delicious.
Episode 2 was supposed to be just a simple swap. Drop the stimulus, get the jobs, break out. But as Barack and the team learn, nothing is ever simple with the Big 3.
When Vladimir Putin drops in on an elaborate sting, things start to get interesting. Episode 3 is a nice one, check it out. Hint, Barack takes these cats out in the same fashion I would as well
BARTENDER!!!!!!!!
Trust little does James aka Barack knows, when he comes back from Cali for a visit we are gonna shoot some Rookie TV stuff while he is visiting so you guys look out for that too. Look out for season 2 it’s gonna be sick.
I been on this internet doing my thing for a while now and I have been literally searching for producers who do beats live on the camera on the fly. Needless to say there or not many good ones out of the bunch, but when you find a diamond in the rough, you gotta show love. Here’s a few in no particular Order. Enjoy.

This first guy hailing from Denver Colorado is extremely talented and has tons of videos and tons of hits to hit youtube and myspace pages. I can tell by his style of playing the MPC live has him in the guitar center often buying new pads for his machine quite often. Yall thought I didn’t know shit about this music shit huh? Check him out in this, one of my more favorite videos out of many hes made of him chopping two beats. See which one you like best. I love the 1st one ![]()
Boon Doc
For those of you that feel as though white people aint got soul, this guy proves that stereotype wrong by fuckin miles…LITERALLY! This is my guy from overseas. Tight as hell, that’s all I can say, here’s a snippet of his mixtape series hes got goin where he does the instrumentals on it. Listen to his bass, this is pure crack. I think the beat 21 aka the last one on this video before he screams “Thats it!” he does at like 8 minutes in on this video in particular is bananas!
Laisu of Louis Den
These next two guys I have the pleasure to know personally. I would go to various beat battles and these two took me as a few diamonds in the rough. Although they do the same thing, they use different tools totally and come from drastically different backgrounds. I thought it would be fun to document, turned out being a groundbreaking endeavor. Here’s the teaser.
Tall Black Guy and K Kruz
Still hungry for more? Hit up www.GrafficAudio.com and you will find the entire video there. This next guy is just plain dope. From Detroit, grim ass cat loves drums and you can tell.
Black Milk
Not only is this guy killing the Chi Hip Hop scene with his soulful samples and visual vocals, but hes one of my best friends. Ive never seen a dude cut beats as fast as this motherfucker. Hes a bad man with some records and a recording booth. Seriously, we’ve had so many nights where he will just sit up and play beats he’s done while we drink a few beers and next thing you know he will bust out and just make a beat on the spot. WTF?!?!? I met him through a photog named Kinga a while back and the rest has been history as far as good music and dope productions. Look out for more colabs between Rookie TV and Rashid Hadee in the near future. It aint over.
Rashid Hadee
Look, if you didn’t make the list, it doesn’t mean I don’t think your tight. Trust me, this is only volume one so there will be more. It may just mean you don’t have any video of you doing a beat live, or maybe I just wasn’t moved by your stuff. By all means, keep doin’ what you do to keep hip hop alive.
I have alot of people I wanted to put in the list but couldn’t for one reason or another, but consequently there is a guy that we worked with on many projects. He did the intro beat or Graffic Audio, done a ton of music for various Rookie TV sketches and has donated a nice amount of beats towards our up coming mixtape. I want to give a Honorable Mention to my man Chewo
The plight of the unknown director is just that. We are unknown so we suffer until we get known. To illustrate my point I got one of my favorite artists Common from the Chi or how we call him over here, “Common Sense” with two drastically different video so for the same song.

The song is called Universal Mind Control, and as you can tell by the Style it was directed by Hype Williams.

That was pretty much typical Hype Williams even though I feel hes been falling off lately. But thanks to a Rookie TV meeting Big DAVE re-opened my eyes to the plight of the unknown director that I already know so well. this next version was actually the original version of Universal Mind Control. Directed by Katt Brown I didn’t know it even existed. How many of you did? This was filmed looong ago, back when the album title was Invincible Summer.

Clearly Katt directed the video from the standpoint of a hip hopper with Common doin flares and breaking at the end? THAT’S HOW THE SHIT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE. Katt, keep doing your thing man, the video is hot, I know your plight well son. My advice to all the director’s is above all else, do the shit RIGHT! Go from the standpoint of the artist and their audience and then put your spin on it, but don’t make it your video. Read our blog, spread our blog, we love yall. Thanks for the look Big DAVE.
Yo remember Ed Lover? The cat that used to host Yo MTV Raps back in the day when hip hop was admirable? Well hes got a new video blog called, “Come on son!” Shit hilarious. Watch this, then play catch up if you need to. Shits hilarious.

I think we are in a weird age where computers literally rule. I mean everything from the DVR box at home to GPS us using computers to make our lives easier. This is a good thing, in fact for most of us we have found computers make our lives easier. One thing that has gotten pretty popular is the video blog. This is cool because basically anyone with a camera can record themselves speaking on something important to them whether its feelings on a boss or how you felt to get booood off stage the night prior. I call it the broke mans therapy session. But just like any new discovery or power that was introduced into any of your favorite cartoons from old school G.I. Joe to new school Sponge Bob, this too can get into the wrongs hands. When videos like this happen, its obviously a cry from help. Remember this video of the Hoff?
Although David wasn’t taping himself, it still constitutes he putting the camera on himself because he told his daughter to film him next time he got drunk. I don’t think any of us are confused by whether the guy is drunk or not, he’s eating a freaking burger off the ground for God’s sake LOL. Stars taping themselves is a very bad thing that often never ends up well. I present to you N.P.A.S.F.T or Normal People Against Stars Filming Themselves (UUUHHH Im still working on the Logo lol). Consequently, this is where my company comes into play. We plan to put a spotlight on these often career damaging videos/photos in hopes to steer these stars in a different direction. As well as get a few laughs along the way LOL. As the chairman of this organization, I give you our first case.

After spending quite some tome on youtube I was shocked to find (months ago) a series of videos taped buy Stephon Marbury. This one time great point guard from NY that went on to get drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks and play for numerous NBA teams posted a video of himself entitled Stephon Marbury eats Vaseline.
Ok, now what the fuck was that? Now I figure this was just a re-posting and it wasn’t originally called this but the proof is in the pudding and I doubt someone paid for any CGI to fake this. I’ve done video blogs before but never have I thought to take the most disturbing practice I do behind closed doors and share it like I’m Julia Fairchild giving the secret to perfect apple turnovers. Now number one, I’m pretty sure tho there might not be a sign or a warning label on Vaseline the other 50 million or so of us knows NOT TO EAT THE SHIT.
I don’t care what bayou your grandmother was from Vaseline doesn’t go in your mouth. Now I know what your thinking, the poor guy may have gotten caught in a weak moment and he just made a mistake. Sadly, I gotta say the answer to that is No. He has tons of these videos posted now of course they have been re-posted numerous times but for the most part Maubury was the first person to expose Maubury. Check out this video of him listening to Kirk Franklin. Now we all have moments like this, it’s when we tape them that we find out help is needed. Yo is that another man’s hand on his back? Wow!
![]()
Yeah! I was right! That WAS a man’s hand on his back and that cat was singing too! Man
as always I want to show where the person in-discussion came from and what makes them good or great in the first place. This former McDonalds All American was at one time heralded as the greatest NYC point guard sharing the floor with with future NBA All-Stars Kevin Garnett, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, and Antawn Jamison, ironically.
He was heavily scouted by Georgia Tech and had a promising career as a Yellow Jacket. Marbury led Georgia Tech to a 24–12 record enroute to the Regional Semifinal game of the NCAA tournament, where the Yellow Jackets lost to Cincinnati 87–70.
For the season, Marbury averaged 18.9 ppg and 4.5 assists and was named a Third Team All American by the Associated Press, along with several conference honors. Following the conclusion of the season he announced his intention to declare himself eligible for the NBA draft.
He got traded to the Milwaukee Bucks and was traded to the Timberwolves for the rights to Ray Allen ironically. In his first season in the league, Marbury averaged 15.8 points and 7.8 assists per game and was named to the 1997 All-Rookie Team. He, along with Kevin Garnett, who would later be his teammate on the Celtics, led the Timberwolves to the NBA Playoffs in 1997 and 1998. Marbury fell out with Timberwolves management stemming from a dispute with coaches about his role in the offense, and his agent David Falk demanded a trade during the lockout-shortened 1999 season. Marbury was traded to the New Jersey Nets in a three-way trade in which Terrell Brandon was sent from Milwaukee to Minnesota and Sam Cassell was sent from New Jersey to Milwaukee.
I know numbers, numbers, numbers, but my point is the guy was really talented player and hella promising as well. Here’s a video of some of his great moments:
I think what is happening is we are baring witness to the steady decline of this one time star and standout. I pray the brother gets back on track, but until then I will say this, if you care about your family members that are in the public eye, keep them the hell away from video camera because they start filming crap like this!
Crazy huh? Funny thing is, hisdriver actually hit one of his own cars. He’s the same as those Kamikaze pilots that drive planes into certain death, but at least they do it for a reason. Why the hell is he doing this to himself. The Irony of it all was that during the 08-09 season of the NBA the Chicago Bulls Actually made it to the playoffs when nobody thought we would. Though we were bumped out by the Boston Celtics, my friends and I cheered every time Maubury was running point. We knew it was only a matter of time before the turnover came.
I hereby convene this the first meeting as chairman of the N.P.A.S.F.T for those of you that are already reaping the benefits of reaching success, watch what you do with that downtime because we will be watching as well. <a href="Here's a link if you need more evidence. “>Here’s a link if you need more evidence.
